Victor Sun:

Master of Law working as director of China Youth Concern Committee Education Development Center and China Youth Concern International Education Consulting Center; a member of experts group Overseas Education Supervision and Administration, Ministry of Education. Victor has engaged himself for many years in overseas education, international communication and related researches for example, he is one of composers who make The Entrustment Service Contract on Overseas Study at One's Own Expense issued by Ministry of Education and State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

Mr. Sun is the initial sponsor of Chinese Language Alliance (CLA); the president of Beijing Zhonghan Shengshi Education and Technology Institute; executive president of CLA and chairman of CLA board; vice president of CLA Chinese editorial committee; director of CLAT test committee.

He has been making efforts in Chinese development and international communication that will promote friendship with other countries.


Hsiang-te Kung:

Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Memphis, is a 75th-generation descendant of Confucius.

Dr. Kung was born in China, and he grew up in Taiwan before coming to the U.S. in 1969. He received his B.S. with a geography major and geology minor from the University of Chinese Culture and received both his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

He is honorary president and one of the sponsors of Chinese Language Alliance. His efforts are in developing Chinese culture and language and exposing China to the world.

Since 1981, he has taught at the University of Memphis, where he served as chairman of the geography department from 1991 until 2001, when it merged with the earth sciences department.

He has co-authored three books, published more than seventy-two referee articles in the professional journals, and received more than 70 research grants. He has been a visiting professor and lecturer in China and University of Pittsburgh, Institute of Shipboard Education – Semester at Sea program.

His major areas of interest are Water Resources, Urban Hydrology, Urban Physical Environment, Land-Surface System, Fluvial Geomorphology, Landform and Terrain Analysis, and Asia/China.

He was nominated for the distinguished teaching service award four times and received awards for Superior Performance in University Research (SPUR) for Outstanding Research Activities twice and the College of Arts and Sciences Meritorious Award.

Dr. Kung worked in city planning for Knox County, and his past research has included an examination of potential flooding in Hong Kong due to the effects of global warming.

 

Melanie Guo:

Graduated from Qufu Normal University (Qufu, Shandong Province, China) with a Bachelor's degree majoring in English (1992) and from Shandong University (Jinan, Shandong Province, China) with a Master's degree majoring in Chinese Literature and Culture. Having been working as a teacher for more than 10 years, she has become a teacher experienced in teaching both Chinese and English as a Second Language.
Now she works as vice executive president of Chinese Language Alliance and chief representative of CLA Beijing Office.

Andrew Sun:

Andrew Sun majoring in English graduated from Jiangnan University. Afterwards he worked as senior consultant in Shanghai International Expatriates Company as well as supervisor of English training for overseas study.
He went to UK and worked as manager in London Education Service Co., Ltd. in 2002 when he got Master Degree in teaching English. During that period, he as a volunteer served in London WMC teaching English for refugees in Britain.
After he came back to China, he was Beijing executive officer in London Education; director of Ray's Foreign Languages Training School and principal of Nanchang Youth Concern Committee. Now he works as vice general manager of Beijing Youth Concern Committee. Mr.Sun is very interested in language examination, teaching languages, cultural research, Chinese history and education development. Besides, he is quite acquainted with British education system and management because he got involved in international education programs and communication.
