Chinese Language Alliance Test
1. Chinese Language Alliance Test (CLAT) is a standard test
for assessing the listening and speaking levels of non-Chinese
speakers (including foreigners, overseas Chinese and China’s
national minorities).
2. The examination standards for CLAT are designed by the
Chinese Language Alliance Test Center, focusing on listening
and speaking abilities. Those who meet the examination standards
will receive a "CLAT Certificate" corresponding
levels.
3. The Chinese Language Alliance (CLA) has set up an examination
committee in charge of leadership, organization of CLAT
examination, and insurance of certificates.
4. Objects applicable to CLAT: CLAT will be divided into
different levels of Chinese language proficiency.
5. The CLAT Certificates is effective for the following
purposes:
* As a reference for reaching the actual level of Chinese
language set forth for those who apply for an entry into
professional study or an entry into postgraduate study in
institutions of higher education in China.
* As a reference for reaching a certain level of Chinese
language or being excused from a study of corresponding
levels of Chinese language courses.
* As a basis of recruitment for various companies or institutions.

7. Test Preparation
CLAT candidates are recommended to participate in formal
training provided by the Chinese Language Alliance and its
designated institutions.
8. Insurance of CLAT Certificates and Report Cards
CLAT certificates and report cards shall be delivered to
the candidates within two months.
The organizer of examinations shall retain related certificates
and report cards for three months and shall no longer maintain
any of such documents thereafter. The organizer is therefore
not liable for failing to provide student documentation
after three months from the certificate issue date.
